Good sleep starts at the end of the day. These three habits take ten minutes, cost nothing and often make a big difference. They are the ones we recommend most often in the treatment room.
Switch off screens half an hour before
The light from screens and the stream of notifications keep the mind awake. Half an hour without your phone, with a book or gentle music, helps your body understand that the day is over.
Breathe slowly for five minutes
Lying down, one hand on your stomach, breathe in through your nose for a count of five, then out for a count of five. Your breathing slows and your shoulders drop. It is the exercise on our home page, only longer.
Massage your neck and shoulders
With your fingertips, make small, slow circles at the base of your skull, then work down your neck to your shoulders. Two minutes is enough to release the tension of the day.
Have you been sleeping badly for several weeks? Talk to your doctor: a massage relaxes you, but it does not replace medical advice.
